As the ancient Rumi said, “let the beauty we love be what we do.” What we do should reflect what we love. Art has always been a great love of mine. I have considered myself an artist since the age of five. One of my favorite, life altering memories from childhood was when my kindergarten teacher, an old Carmelite nun, caught me coloring instead of napping. When she asked what I was doing, I had one eye peeked open and one hand holding a brown crayon. I made the pivotal decision to lie and say I was napping. After being scolded, I discovered then that I would never lie again and I would always love to create art at any expense!
